The County Fathers -Lightheaded CD (2018)
13-song retrospective album this Manchester, England, band. The County Fathers were a late 80s band who released just one 12" single, "Lightheaded", on the Ugly Man Label in 1988. There were three songs on that single, "Lightheaded", "You Think It's So Funny" and "Deep South" and that was all their known recorded output until now. There were no other releases nor compilation appearances. Thanks to the band, which was always fronted by Mark Radcliffe (now a DJ on BBC 6music) and which saw a couple of lineup changes through their time, we have unearthed 10 more jangly recordings from different periods of the band! Yes! For the first time these songs will be available for everyone to listen and they are a very fine treat to all of us who love independent guitar pop!! Custom digipack, full color booklet and liner notes by Mark Radcliffe.
